WWT Isle of Wight - About Us

The WWT Isle of Wight group was set up in November 2011 following a well-received trade and scaffolders Safety and Health Awareness Day (SHAD) organised by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and held at the Isle of Wight College in July of the same year.

The group aims to make use of local expertise and good practice to make the local construction industry a safer place. The Isle of Wight group is managed by  a steering committee including prominent Island personalities such as John Nicholson, group chair; Cheryl Sheath, of the IOW College; John Lutas, head of Building Control.

The initiative brings together local experience, expertise and good practice to drive a campaign aimed at helping the local industry, at all levels, to better consider and improve construction health and safety, by addressing local issues and concerns and making the Island industry a safer and more comfortable place for Island people to work in.

The group work very closely with the local college and for further information about the groups events and joining the group, call the college on to speak to Nicola.
