Roof Workers Safety and Health Awareness Day in Swindon
THE NATIONAL SELF BUILD AND RENOVATION CENTRE, LYDIARDS WAY, SWINDON
WEDNESDAY 10 MARCH 2010
This event is aimed at local roof working contractors in Wiltshire, as part of the campaign to improve standards, promote safe methods of work and reduce the number of injuries and fatal accidents to roofers. It is a free, morning-only event and will include updates on: domestic, short duration work; fragile roofs; equipment demonstrations and training information along with HSE’s expectations of roofing companies. This event has been organised by HSE in conjunction with the Construction Industry's South West Working Well Together group.

This is one of a series of free partnership events run by the industry for the industry, as part of the UK-wide Working Well Together (WWT) campaign.
This free Safety and Health Awareness half-day event is aimed at raising awareness of key health and safety issues facing the construction industry when working in groundworks .
If you are a self-employed or run a small construction company, this event is a must.
On the day you will be given practical advice and solutions on how to control or minimise the risks associated with working in groundworks, there will be five presentations/demonstrations: Plant & Equipment (inc Quickhitch and lifting), Falls from vehicles (loading and offloading lorries), Cable detection, Safe digging techniques, Trenches (Shoring / Confined spaces).
Various types of equipment will be on display with the chance to ask any questions you may have.
